Ryanair after four years resumes operations at Warsaw – Chopin (WAW) for the summer season 2023 with five routes to Spain, Austria, Belgium and Cyprus, offering at the largest airport of the Polish capital more options to fly to the main European capitals and the most popular holiday destinations. Currently, the low-cost carrier is the leading airline operator between Poland and Europe.
“We are delighted to bring Chopin back to Warsaw and open 5 new routes to exciting sunny destinations such as Alicante, Mallorca and Paphos and favorite cities such as Brussels and Vienna,” said Ryanair’s Michal Kaczmarzyk, CEO of BUZZ.
The company says its return to Warsaw – Chopin (WAW) is due to the lack of support from the regional authorities and the management of Modlin Airport (WMI) to expand its operations in the long term.
Ryanair is Poland’s leading airline with a 35% market share, the airline has generated more than 3,000 jobs in the region and also offers more than 430 weekly flights on more than 50 routes from Warsaw – Modlin (WNI).
“For incomprehensible reasons, both the airport management and regional authorities ignore Ryanair (the largest airline in Europe and Poland) and refuse to participate in the development of Warsaw-Modlin Airport, unnecessarily risking the loss of jobs and connections in the region,” added Kaczmarzyk.
