    Zurich Airport (ZRH) will be served by 60 airlines with flights to 187 destinations in 71 countries for the 2023 summer season. This represents a 95% recovery of the supply of destinations served by 90% of the airlines serving in 2019.

    Increased local airline operations.

    SWISS will strengthen its presence in Germany for the summer season. Edelweiss will take over the route to Bari, Italy (BRI) from SWISS; it will offer an unprecedented destination to Biarritz, France (BIQ) from June 23; and from July 7 to August 18 it will have a new seasonal service to Akureyri, Iceland (AEY) with twice-weekly flights.

    The destinations operated in the winter by Chair Airlines to Gran Canaria (LPA) and Tenerife – South (TFS) will be available for this year’s summer schedule.

    More European services

    Cyprus Airways will resume the seasonal route between Larnaca (LCA) – Zurich (ZRH). Iberia will operate a service to Ibiza (IBZ) between July and August. Vueling has scheduled a weekly frequency from Bilbao (BIO) in the July – October period. Brussels Airlines will offer five weekly flights to Zurich (ZRH) from Brussels (BRU).

    Low-cost easyJet will have a seasonal route to Naples (NAP) and Moldovan carrier FlyOne will have nonstop flights from Chişinău (KIV) starting June 25.

    Reactivation of routes in the Asian market.

    In early March, SWISS resumed scheduled passenger operations to Mainland China, for this summer season the airline will have three weekly flights on the Zurich (ZRH) – Shanghai Pudong (PVG) route operated on Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A340-300, both aircraft offering the airline’s new premium economy product.

    In addition, Korean Air is bringing back its seasonal route from Seoul – Incheon (ICN) operating three times a week on Boeing 777-300ERs.

    Increase in intercontinental flights

    Cathay Pacific resumed operations to Zurich (ZRH) in December last year and will increase its Hong Kong (HKG) flights from two to three flights a week from the end of June. Qatar Airways will return to operating two daily flights. Ethiopian Airlines will increase its services from three to four flights a week, this route is operated via Milan – Malpensa (MXP). In addition, Saudia is expanding its services three times a week from Riyadh (RUH).
