World2Fly Authorized to Launch Flights to Argentina, Eyes Madrid-Rosario Route
The Argentine government has authorized the Spanish airline World 2 Fly to operate regular international air transport services for passengers and cargo in the country.
The measure was formalized through Disposition 33/2025 of the Air Transport Undersecretariat, published in the Official Gazette this September 26. This authorization is the first fundamental legal step for the company to establish a schedule of flights to Argentina.
As stated in the disposition, the Spanish carrier was granted permission to operate a generic route covering: points in Europe - points in the territory of the Kingdom of Spain - intermediate points - points in Argentine territory - points beyond - and return.
This broad route structure, common in bilateral agreements, gives World 2 Fly considerable flexibility. While the main destination for such an operation is typically Buenos Aires/Ezeiza (EZE), the wording of the permit allows for other airports.
In this regard, as we had exclusively reported from Aviacionline in July, sources close to the company had expressed in conversations with our media outlet their interest in flying to Rosario International Airport (ROS), Argentina's third largest city, a possibility that now has a regulatory framework that could make it viable.
Furthermore, airport officials indicated yesterday that negotiations are advanced and that World2Fly's intention is to start flights between Madrid and Rosario in January 2026, once the Rosario airport reopens.
In the article we published in July, the company had conditioned its entry into the Rosario market on the runway reconstruction works being completed this year, in order to take advantage of the southern hemisphere's summer high season.
The airline is part of the Iberostar Group tourism conglomerate. Its current network covers Cancun, Havana, Varadero, Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, La Romana, Zanzibar, Mauritius, and Cali.
