From December 12, 2023, WestJet will embark on weekly flights to this much-loved sun destination, known for its globally acclaimed shore diving and wind surfing. This new service also brings the total number of Caribbean destinations offered by the carrier to a record high.

The announcement is significant, with WestJet becoming the sole airline to provide scheduled non-stop services from Toronto to Bonaire. The carrier’s continued efforts to strengthen its hold in Eastern Canada via connectivity to popular sun and leisure destinations underscores its commitment to growth and customer satisfaction.

«WestJet is thrilled to introduce the splendor of Bonaire to Canadian travelers eager to swap their winter routines for world-renowned adventure and pristine white beaches,» said Chris Avery, WestJet Vice-President, Network Planning, Alliances, and Commercial Development. «With the winter months on the horizon and our exciting growth plan, we remain committed to network expansion, delivering unforgettable experiences, and connecting our guests to remarkable destinations such as Bonaire.»

Bonaire, a part of the Dutch Caribbean, is located in the Leeward Antilles in the Caribbean Sea. The island is accessible through The Flamingo International Airport, providing convenient access for tourists seeking a warm weather escape.

Canada continues to be a crucial connection for Bonaire, ranking among our top 10 performing markets. This historic new connectivity meets the rising demand of tourism interest in the island, which we expect to surge during the colder months.»

According to WestJet, the addition of Bonaire to its ever-growing network not only solidifies its position as a key player in the region but also answers to a rising demand from Canadian tourists for diverse travel options.
