Volotea took delivery of three Airbus A320-200s ex Indonesia AirAsia
On February 1, 2022, Volotea took delivery of the last Airbus A320-200 of three agreed with GOAL Aircraft Leasing. The aircraft was previously owned by Indonesia AirAsia.
As reported by GOAL, the three aircraft are held by APF 1, a fund owned by German institutional investors. The operating leases underlying Volotea will be managed by the lessor.
The Spanish low-cost has been preparing for the northern hemisphere summer season. It recently announced a series of links that will start in the coming autumn.
In 2021 the company retired all Boeing 717s from its fleet. In turn, took delivery of sixteen Airbus A320-200s through different lessors, including the latter three that hold the EC-NOQ, EC-NOS, and EC-NOR registrations.
«We would like to sincerely thank our former lessor Indonesia AirAsia for their continued support and hard work over the past years. We look forward to a successful relationship with Volotea in the future,» GOAL said in a statement.
The 180-passenger Airbus A320s join the company’s 20 other 156-seat Airbus A319s.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, the company is not using the European manufacturer’s model extensively. For the month of February, it has 97,620 seats available, for April there is a jump in availability to 458,640 seats and July will be the month with the largest supply of seats, with 611,820 seats.
Most of the aircraft are based in France and Italy. For the northern summer, Nantes (NTE) will account for 39.2% of frequencies, followed by Naples (NAP) with 15.9%, and Cagliari (CAG) with 11.3%.
