Volaris announces two new routes between Mexico and Peru

Volaris continues to increase its operations in South America, the largest Mexican airline will begin flights from Mexico City (MEX) and Cancun (CUN) to Lima, Peru (LIM) on June 1.

Mexico City (MEX) – Lima (LIM)

The company will operate daily flights in Airbus A320 with 174/179 seats in a single configuration.
In 2019 the route between Mexico City (MEX) and Lima (LIM) moved 712,003 passengers and 7447.97 tons of cargo in 5,158 air operations. Volaris will be the only low-cost airline operating on this route.
Cancun (CUN) – Lima (LIM)

The company will operate daily flights in Airbus A320 with 174/179 seats in a single configuration.
In 2019 the route between Mexico City (MEX) and Lima (LIM) mobilized 435,002 passengers in 3,029 air operations. Volaris will be the only Mexican low-cost airline operating on this route.
Growth in South America
In 2021 for the first time, Volaris landed in South America with two routes to Colombia, one of Mexico’s main international markets. In 2019 more than 1.3 million passengers were mobilized between the two nations.
The airline inaugurated two links from Mexico City (MEX) and Cancun (CUN) to Bogota (BOG) and through Volaris Costa Rica announces a new connection between San Jose (SJO) and Lima (LIM) starting June 3, 2022. The low-cost carrier will operate 17 weekly frequencies to Peru during the summer season, which will be Volaris’ main market in South America, surpassing the offer in Colombia.
