Starting in July of next year, Viva Aerobus will fly from Merida to Miami and Orlando, bringing to five the number of international destinations offered by the company in the Yucatan capital. In addition, the low cost airline will be the only Mexican airline to offer flights to the United States from the Yucatan Peninsula.

Last week, Viva Aerobus held a major event at Monterrey Airport with the launch of 17 new routes to the U.S., after Mexico returned to Category 1. For the first time, the low cost airline will have a presence in Florida, a popular destination for customers traveling to visit relatives, for business or leisure.

«With Viva, Yucatecans will be able to connect, at low prices, in new airplanes and with full comfort on point-to-point flights with two of Florida’s main destinations to vacation and visit their families, as well as attract North American tourism to visit and vacation all that this great destination like Mérida has to offer,» said Juan Carlos Zuazua, general director of Viva Aerobus.
