Via Uruguay, Azul receives another Embraer E195-E2
Azul Linhas Aéreas received a new Embraer 195-E2 aircraft this Tuesday (7), named “Cuanto Más Azul, Mejor”
The jet, registered under the prefix PS-ADG, landed at Confins International Airport (MG) from Uruguay, where it will undergo registration and certification procedures before entering service on the airline’s routes.
Embraer delivers the aircraft to the leasing company, which has a legal representative in Uruguay. The plane is then exported to Azul, a process that offers tax benefits that can reach millions of reais per aircraft.
With this latest addition, Azul—currently the world’s largest operator of the E195-E2—now has 36 of these jets in its fleet. This is the fourth E195-E2 added in 2025, part of the airline’s investment plan exceeding R$ 3 billion, announced last year to support Brazil’s aerospace industry.
Built by Embraer, the E195-E2 is the largest and most advanced commercial aircraft developed in Brazil. With seating for up to 136 passengers, the model is known for its fuel efficiency, reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 25%. It also features onboard Wi-Fi, individual screens at each seat, and a quieter cabin.
“These deliveries strengthen Azul’s air network and reaffirm our commitment to providing customers with a more comfortable travel experience,” said Abhi Shah, President of Azul. “Our partnership with Embraer is essential to the company’s growth and the development of Brazil’s aviation sector,” he added, according to our partner outlet in Brazil, AEROIN.
Azul operates over 900 daily flights to more than 150 domestic and international destinations. The new jet will be incorporated into the airline’s route network once regulatory procedures are completed.
