Flight UA283 departs Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from Los Angeles at 21:00 and arrives in Brisbane at 05:00. The return UA284 departs the Queensland capital at 12:45 and lands in Los Angeles at 08:00. This route will operate seasonally until 14 February 2024 and thanks to the partnership with Virgin Australia will give United customers access to more Australian cities.

Last year United became the first US airline to offer scheduled non-stop passenger flights from the US mainland to Queensland with three weekly flights. Currently, the San Francisco – Brisbane service operates daily on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

«We are delighted with the launch of this service in time for the start of the summer holidays. We know that a trip to Los Angeles and Disneyland has long been a desire of many families. It is also great news for Queensland exporters. More importantly, it will boost the flow of US visitors to Queensland«, according to Gert-Jan de Graaff, Brisbane Airport CEO.

The flights will also increase Queensland’s export capacity. United’s inaugural route to San Francisco moved 15 tonnes of beef. The San Francisco service has carried full export loads of beef, lamb and seafood, providing millions of dollars of revenue for Queensland businesses and supporting local employment.
