Aviation Capital Group (ACG) announced the delivery of its second Airbus A321neo (with registration CC-AWU) aircraft on a long-term lease to JetSMART, as part of a three-aircraft transaction between the two companies. The aircraft is powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1133G-JM engines.

The new aircraft will be based in Chile and is expected to begin operating in the next few days on both domestic and international flights. JetSMART’s projection is to have a fleet of one hundred aircraft by 2029: a truly relevant growth, considering that the company currently has twenty-two aircraft, according to inventory data from the Planespotter website.

As reported by our partner AEROIN, another interesting fact about the company is that it is known for having animals printed on the tails of all the planes in its fleet, just as Frontier Airlines does in the United States (both belong to the same group). Thus, the newest member of JetSMART’s «fauna» is a Spotted Eagle Ray.

The CC-AWU joins CC-AWT, JetSMART’s first Airbus A321neo and first high-density aircraft in South America with 240 seats, and CC-AWS, received in July, leased from a different company.

JetSMART currently has operations in Chile, Argentina and Perú, from where it flies to almost the entire sub-continent.
