Start-up Canada Jetlines prepares to launch flights in northern summer

Canada Jetlines, the new Canadian vacation airline, announced that it will begin operating from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) starting next summer.
The airline will operate from a fleet of 180-passenger Airbus A320 aircraft. It aims to reach up to fifteen aircraft by the end of 2025.
Canada Jetlines will schedule charter services to international destinations in the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and domestic cities in Canada. They had previously indicated their intentions to operate in Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Miami (MIA) as the first cities.
«This is an exciting day for Canada Jetlines as we name Toronto Pearson as our primary travel hub in preparation for summer service,» said Eddy Doyle, company’s CEO. «This partnership will allow us to better serve domestic and international travelers to and from Canada’s busiest airport.»

Canada has been facing major challenges due to the COVID 19 health crisis: until August 2021 nationals and residents were not allowed to leave the country for tourism. Despite the difficulties, three carriers have announced their intention to launch in 2022: Connect Airlines, Linx Airlines and Canada Jetlines.
