SATENA to Launch Quibdó-Pizarro Route to Improve Connectivity in Chocó
With flights on Mondays and Fridays, the new connection will boost sustainable tourism and commerce in Bajo Baudó.
Starting March 3, SATENA will begin operating the Quibdó-Pizarro-Quibdó route, aiming to enhance mobility along the Chocó Pacific coast. The new flights will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, providing a fast connection between the Chocó capital and this coastal destination.
The route will be served by Twin Otter aircraft, which have a capacity of 19 passengers. This initiative seeks to integrate remote areas where air transport is essential for connectivity, access to services, and economic development. In addition to reducing travel times, the route is expected to boost key sectors such as commerce and tourism in the region.

With this new route, SATENA reaffirms its commitment to territorial integration, facilitating access to essential services and promoting economic and tourism growth in Chocó," said Major General Óscar Zuluaga Castaño, President of SATENA.

Pizarro, located in the Bajo Baudó municipality, is a natural and cultural treasure, featuring pristine beaches, mangroves, and exceptional biodiversity. The new air connection will facilitate visitor arrivals, stimulate the local economy, and create new opportunities for the community.
The destination offers activities such as jungle hikes, kayaking tours, birdwatching, and participation in traditional festivals, including the Festival de Marimba y Chirimía, positioning itself as a sustainable tourism hotspot in Colombia.
Ticket Prices and Availability
Tickets are available for COP 170,000 (USD 41.34) via the SATENA website and from COP 193,800 (USD 47.13) at physical sales points.
