    In February 2018, the ultra Low Cost airline Ryanair expands its operations in the Middle East with the opening of its bases in Amman and Aqaba in Jordan where it offers European connections at both airports.

    Previously Ryanair announced new routes for the northern winter from Madrid and now adds a new connection to the Middle East between the Spanish capital to Amman, Jordan. This new route will operate seasonally during the boreal winter season from October 31, 2021 to March 30, 2022.

    The schedule of Ryanair’s new service is as follows:

    • Madrid – Amman FR150 MAD 13:50 – AMM 20:00 one flight weekly on Sunday.
    • Amman – Madrid FR151 AMM 20:25 – MAD 00:35+1 a weekly flight on Sunday.

    The flight will be operated by Boeing 737 aircraft and promotional ticket fare offers starting at 19,99€.

    «We are delighted to announce this new route from Madrid to Amman, operating a weekly flight from the end of October. Ryanair remains committed to rebuilding Madrid’s tourism industry by strengthening the capital’s connectivity as the airline continues to grow in Europe and travel returns to pre-crisis levels» says Jason McGuinness, Ryanair’s Chief Commercial Officer.

    Royal Jordanian currently operates three weekly Airbus A319 flights between Amman – Madrid, with Ryanair’s entry on the route will represent a 33.33% increase in frequencies over 2019.

    The Jordanian flag carrier was the only airline with flights from Jordan to Spain its operation in 2019 was 3 weekly flights to Madrid with Airbus A321/A320 and 2 weekly flights to Barcelona with Airbus A319/A320, currently they only operate from the Spanish capital. During 2021 the market between Jordan and Spain has only recovered by 7.32% from pre-pandemic levels.
