Paraguay's Paranair Adds Second Domestic Route in Uruguay
Paranair will begin its flights between Montevideo (MVD) and Rivera (RVY) on December 1st, connecting the Uruguayan capital with the north of the country. The company has already put tickets on sale for this new domestic route, the second it operates within Uruguay.
The operation will be carried out using Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft, with a capacity for 50 passengers. The estimated flight time is 45 minutes, completing a total itinerary of 1 hour and 5 minutes.
This new connection between Montevideo and Rivera joins Paranair's existing offering, which already links the nation's capital with Salto (SLT) three times a week.
Jaime Cassola, General Manager of Paranair, emphasized that "Uruguay is a key country for Paranair, and the start of the Montevideo–Rivera route reinforces our growth strategy." He added that this is driven by "the trust of those who choose us and by the joint work with the Ministry of Tourism and Aeropuertos Uruguay."

Itinerary of Paranair's new route
The route will operate twice weekly with the following schedules:
- Flight Montevideo (MVD) – Rivera (RVY): Departure 7:00 PM, Arrival 7:45 PM (Mondays and Wednesdays)
- Flight Rivera (RVY) – Montevideo (MVD): Departure 8:45 PM, Arrival 9:30 PM (Mondays and Wednesdays)
A growing domestic network
This new connection is possible thanks to the modernization of the Rivera Airport, which was inaugurated in December 2023 as part of the Aeropuertos Uruguay plan. The upgrades brought the terminal in line with international standards for operation and safety.
Diego Arrosa, CEO of Aeropuertos Uruguay, stated that "the direct route between Montevideo and Rivera is excellent news." He stressed that the modernization of the interior airports "marked a before and after for the country's air connectivity," driving new opportunities.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Tourism, Pablo Menoni, expressed that "it is a joy to see this new domestic route finalized, which will allow us to continue improving" Uruguay's connectivity. He affirmed that they will "continue working to provide the best conditions for tourists to come to Uruguay."
