The beginning of these flights will mark the return of international operations in Argentina, in addition to Buenos Aires (Aeroparque and Ezeiza).

    History

Bariloche, Buenos Aires (Aeroparque and Ezeiza), Córdoba and Mendoza were Aerolíneas Argentinas’ destinations to Santiago de Chile from 2003 to the present. The Argentine capital never suspended its connection with Chile.

In the case of Córdoba, the last operations were in 2018, when the airline decided to cancel flights due to low demand. Santiago de Chile was the only international route of Córdoba Hub, which provided the possibility of connecting the city with Salta, Tucumán, Jujuy, Resistencia, Posadas and Iguazú.

Mendoza had the last flights of Aerolíneas Argentinas in May 2014, after three years of operations. At the time, its main competitor was LAN Airlines, which had 21 weekly flights.

For its part, Bariloche had seasonal operations to Santiago de Chile during the 2003 winter season, on Boeing 737-200s, and in July 2013, with Embraer aircraft.
