After more than two and a half years, LEVEL announced that it will resume operations to Santiago (SCL), Chile, from Barcelona (BCN), Spain, on October 31.

The IAG Group’s long-haul low-cost airline had indefinitely suspended its operations to the Chilean capital after the onset of the COVID-19 health crisis in March 2020, barely a year after starting them. During that stage it mobilized 86,236 passengers, according to AENA and JAC Chile.

Now, the route restarts as part of its 2022-23 boreal winter program, operating four flights per week on Airbus A330-200 aircraft, with capacity for 288 passengers, offering 2,304 seats per week.

Tickets can now be purchased on the LEVEL website and other Iberia channels from USD 395 each way.

Also, travelers can connect through Barcelona with flights to A Coruña, Alicante, Almería, Asturias, Bilbao, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Granada, Ibiza, Jerez de la Frontera, Lanzarote, Madrid, Menorca, Málaga, San Sebastián, Sevilla, Tenerife, and Vigo; through its codeshare agreement with Vueling.

«The synergies between Barcelona and Chile are many and very diverse and we want to boost them with this direct route in which we are the only operator from El Prat, and which returns to strengthen our presence in Latin America,» said Lucía Adrover, Commercial Director of LEVEL.

With this restart, the airline further strengthens the connection between Barcelona and South American destinations. Specifically, the route to Chile will be the second route that LEVEL will operate in the region, along with Buenos Aires (Argentina), which will have a daily flight.

The offer between Chile and Spain will be complemented by LATAM and Iberia’s daily flights between the capitals of both countries, with more than 35,000 seats per month, which will mean a recovery of 81% in the offer compared to 2019.
