With this latest order, LATAM’s total Boeing 787 fleet will reach 46 aircraft, marking an increase of 20 planes since the pre-pandemic era. This expansion underscores LATAM’s commitment to maintaining one of the most modern and efficient fleets in South America.

Innovative GEnx Engines for Enhanced Performance

Further enhancing its fleet, LATAM will equip the new Boeing 787s with GEnx engines from GE Aerospace, becoming the first airline group in South America to incorporate these high-performance, efficient engines.

Boasting over 50 million flight hours since 2011, the GEnx engine family is GE’s fastest-selling, high-powered engine with nearly 3,000 units in service and on order.

«These steps align perfectly with our commitment to sustainability and bring LATAM closer to achieving carbon-neutral status by 2050,» stated Ramiro Alfonsín, CFO of LATAM Group. The addition of GEnx engines offers more flexibility and options for long-range fleet growth, while the expanded Boeing 787 fleet supports the group’s environmental goals with advanced technology and reduced impact.
