The first of these additions is the aircraft soon to be registered in Brazil as PS-LHB (msn 8702). Built in 2019, this plane previously operated for Indian airline IndiGo under the registration VT-IZP until November of last year. It completed a long positioning flight from Asia, landing at Fortaleza Airport in Ceará. After completing the nationalization procedures, the aircraft will be transferred to LATAM’s Maintenance Center (MRO) in São Carlos, in the interior of São Paulo, where it will undergo necessary adaptations before entering commercial service within the airline’s network.

Almost simultaneously, a second aircraft arrived in the country, registered as PR-XBX (msn 12538). This unit is factory-new and completed its delivery flight from the Airbus facility in Toulouse, France. It made a technical and customs stop in Fortaleza before continuing on to the São Carlos MRO, where it is now located.

These additions are part of LATAM’s ongoing fleet modernization and capacity expansion plan for the Brazilian market. The airline’s strategy involves a combination of receiving aircraft directly from the manufacturer and acquiring or leasing units on the secondary market, providing flexibility in fleet management.

According to our partner outlet Aeroin, in addition to these two jets, LATAM Airlines Brasil is expecting a third A320neo to arrive soon. This aircraft, with serial number 12576, will be registered as PR-XBZ. It has already completed its acceptance flight in France and is set to be delivered to Brazil in the coming days.

With these new aircraft, LATAM Brasil strengthens its fleet, which is primarily composed of Airbus A320 family jets—including the A319ceo, A320ceo, A320neo, A321ceo, and A321neo—the backbone of its domestic and regional operations. The São Carlos maintenance center plays a crucial role in preparing and servicing these aircraft to ensure operational readiness.
