Kenya Airways leases an Airbus A330

Kenya Airways has signed a short-term lease agreement with Hi Fly, a leasing and charter airline, to optimise capacity for the peak holiday season.
The ACMI lease will immediately incorporate an Airbus A330-200 registered 9H-HFH to boost its seating capacity on trunk routes to Johannesburg and Dubai.
«With the current capacity constraints arising from the growing demand for air travel, we need to balance the immediate needs of our customers by introducing more capacity into the market,» said Allan Kilavuka, Kenya Airways Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
The aircraft’s welcome will bolster the number of travellers following the African nation’s president’s announcement of the removal of visa requirements for visitors to Kenya from January 2024 making Kenya a visa-free country.
The Airbus A330-200 has a capacity of 299 passengers, divided between 24 Business Class seats and 275 in Economy. The introduction of the aircraft will increase cargo capacity by mobilising a higher volume of cargo.
