The new service was operated with an Airbus A320, registration LV-HEK, featuring the image of a Huemul—a native South American deer—on its tail, in line with JetSMART’s tradition of showcasing regional wildlife on its aircraft. With this launch, JetSMART becomes the second airline offering regular passenger flights at the Chaco airport.

Flights will connect Buenos Aires’ Jorge Newbery Airport (AEP) with Resistencia International Airport (RES) on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The new route aims to enhance travel options between northeastern Argentina and the country’s central region, serving business, leisure, and personal travelers alike.

To mark the launch, JetSMART is offering promotional fares, with tickets starting from ARS 30,000 per segment, including taxes and fees.

Gonzalo Pérez Corral, General Manager of JetSMART Argentina, said: “The launch of this new route reflects our growth plan in Argentina, aiming to expand our network and add frequencies that connect more regions directly, efficiently, and on brand-new aircraft.” He added, “We believe this route offers a growth opportunity for the region—not just for Resistencia itself, but for its entire area of influence.”

Chaco Governor Leandro Zdero remarked that just a year ago, “we dreamed of more flights for our province. Today, thanks to this strategic partnership with JetSMART, that dream has become a reality.” He emphasized that greater connectivity means more economic, commercial, and tourism development, and extended an invitation to other companies to invest in the province.

Resistencia International Airport handled 194,000 domestic passengers in 2024, underscoring its importance as a regional connector. Federico Petazzi, JetSMART’s Commercial Manager, noted: “We’re launching this operation with the goal of making travel between the two cities more accessible, offering easy booking and various payment methods.”

The airline confirmed it has worked closely with provincial authorities and airport administrators to develop a service tailored to the needs of the communities along the route.
