JetBlue Announces 24 New Routes Following a Major Expansion in Miami

JetBlue has expanded services in Raleigh, Newark / New York, Boston and Miami, the main base of American Airlines, which in turn is its strategic partner. New destinations announced include flights to Guatemala; Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and Key West in Florida.
The airline has been announcing a series of new routes while recovering others that were operated prior to the pandemic, aiming to generate income immediately and capture traffic according to demand.
“This year has driven us to find new ways to operate our business and we have adapted at a pace we have never seen before, rotating our network in response to changing customer demand,” said Scott Laurence, JetBlue’s Head of Revenue and Planning.
“We continue to play the offensive to generate cash income and support the recovery of our business. These additions to the network help to refine our geography in ways that make sense in today’s market”, he concluded.
Miami is becoming a nerve center for several airlines when seeking demand in the midst of the pandemic and outbreaks. Following the announcements by Southwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines, JetBlue would begin operations on February 11, 2021, without leaving aside its main base in Fort Lauderdale.
“The historic launch of JetBlue in Miami-Dade County, with up to 14 daily flights, is great news for our families, the tourism industry and the business community as we work to help our economy recover from the pandemic. ”Said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
“I proudly welcome JetBlue to Miami-Dade. And I am pleased to see them taking important steps to keep passengers and employees safe and healthy. ” Levine Cava emphasized.
The company has moved forward to operate at the Key West International Airport, located on the Florida Strait south of Miami, which will have a direct connection with New York and Boston.
Central America has become a magnet for new routes due to the easing of the restrictions entered, and JetBlue is not far behind by announcing Guatemala as the 25th country it will serve.
Continuing with the entry of new cities, the company will incorporate Los Cabos, Mexico into its network, which would begin on June 17, 2021. “We are pleased to be part of the new destinations that will arrive on the JetBlue route map by 2021, with the addition of two new direct routes to Los Cabos,” said Rodrigo Esponda, Managing Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board.
The new routes of the airline’s national and international network starting February 11, 2021, are the following:
*Miami to Boston, Los Angeles, Newark and New York.
*Key West to Boston and New York.
*Newark to Atlanta and Raleigh/Durham.
*Raleigh/Durham to Austin, Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa.
*San Francisco to Austin.
In addition, the new routes of the airline’s national and international network starting March 4, 2021, will be:
*Cancún to Austin, Las Vegas, Nashville and Sacramento.
*Los Ángeles to Jacksonville.
*Raleigh/Durham to Las Vegas and San Francisco
The other new routes of the airline’s national and international network:
*Guatemala to New York, starts on April 15, 2021.
*Los Cabos to Los Ángeles and New York, both start on April 15, 2021.
*Bogotá to New York will start during the first quarter.
