Japan Airlines Expands Flights to Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Diego, Introduces Airbus A350-1000 to the U.S.

Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced new flight options for passengers traveling from North America to Japan in 2025, expanding its network and improving schedule availability.
Starting June 1, JAL will introduce a new daily flight between Chicago and Narita, complementing its existing daily service to Haneda (HND). Ticket sales will begin on February 12. Additionally, the San Diego (SAN) – Tokyo Narita (NRT) route will increase to daily service between March 30 and October 25, 2025. The Los Angeles (LAX) – Kansai (KIX) route will also operate daily starting July 18.
The airline also announced that its new Airbus A350-1000 will be introduced on the Los Angeles – Tokyo Haneda (HND) route. This aircraft features upgraded cabins and new services, with a launch schedule to be announced soon.

Chicago – Tokyo Haneda (HND)
- JL010: Departs Haneda at 11:30 AM, arrives in Chicago at 9:05 AM (daily).
- JL009: Departs Chicago at 12:05 PM, arrives in Haneda at 2:55 PM (+1 day). From June 1, the flight will depart at 1:30 AM, arriving in Haneda at 4:20 AM (+1 day).
Chicago – Tokyo Narita (NRT)
- JL056: Departs Narita at 6:15 PM, arrives in Chicago at 4:00 PM (daily from May 31).
- JL055: Departs Chicago at 12:30 PM, arrives in Narita at 3:15 PM (+1 day) (daily from June 1).
San Diego – Tokyo Narita (NRT)
- JL066: Departs Narita at 5:20 PM, arrives in San Diego at 11:10 AM (daily).
- JL065: Departs San Diego at 1:05 PM, arrives in Narita at 4:45 PM (+1 day) (daily).
October 27, 2024 – March 29, 2025
San Diego – Tokyo Narita (NRT)
- JL066: Departs Narita at 5:10 PM, arrives in San Diego at 10:45 AM (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays).
- JL065: Departs San Diego at 12:40 PM, arrives in Narita at 4:40 PM (+1 day) (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays).
