GOL Linhas Aéreas partners with Mercado Pago to expand digital payment options in Argentina
As part of its regional expansion strategy, GOL Linhas Aéreas has entered into a partnership with Mercado Pago, the Argentine-born fintech with a strong presence across Latin America. According to both companies, the agreement will allow users to purchase airline tickets directly through GOL’s digital channels using the Mercado Pago e-wallet, with a 10% discount during Hot Sale 2025 via a promotional code.
With this initiative, GOL aims to increase its direct sales volume in Argentina, which currently accounts for less than 10% of its local operations. In the first quarter of 2025, the airline reported a 57% increase in flight capacity between Brazil and Argentina, including new routes such as Córdoba–Recife and Bariloche–São Paulo.
For its third year participating in Hot Sale, GOL is promoting round-trip fares to international destinations including Brazil, the Caribbean, Miami, Orlando, and Bogotá starting at AR$ 272,496.
More connectivity and flexible payment options
The airline has also expanded its network of direct flights from Argentina to 13 Brazilian cities, including São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, and Fortaleza, and has recently added Brasília and Porto Alegre to its route map.
According to the airline, the partnership with Mercado Pago is part of a broader effort to diversify its payment methods, which already include Apple Pay and Google Pay.
