This Tuesday (3) at 11:58 a.m. the first regular flight of Flybondi’s new Boeing 737, registration LV-KAH, took off from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery, with destination Cordoba. The aircraft had arrived in Argentina last July 21, and was awaiting authorization from ANAC to start operations.

With the introduction of the third Boeing 737, the Argentine low cost carrier will add new frequencies in most of its routes to and from Buenos Aires.

«For the Bariloche – Buenos Aires route, with the incorporation of the third aircraft, frequencies increased to 15 weekly flights, while the Mendoza – Buenos Aires route has 5 weekly frequencies and the Salta – Buenos Aires route has 7 weekly flights. In this way, the company increases to 134 weekly frequencies for the 13 domestic destinations», Flybondi detailed.

At least for now, the aircraft will continue, in part, with the livery of Sunwing, its previous carrier. The tail, turbines and winglets will remain orange, until the Boeing 737 receives Flybondi’s full livery.

In principle, the ultra low-cost carrier will use the Boeing 737-800 LV-KAH to reinforce capacity on current routes, not to add new ones, but close sources indicated that it will depend on the dynamism of the market.

    Future prospects

«The results of the first half of 2021 allow us to be optimistic about the recovery of the sector in the medium and long term, and in this our customers have been a fundamental piece. We fly from Aeroparque with a performance of excellence, with punctuality and record occupancy in these months, which bring us closer to new people who are deciding to fly,» commented Mauricio Sana, CEO of Flybondi.

«For this reason, we remain firm with our investment and recovery plan, incorporating now our third aircraft and between September and October, the fourth. As long as demand maintains the current trend, we are convinced that the way forward is to add connectivity, new options to fly in Argentina, generate employment in this particular moment, and of course, more freedom to fly with low fares and quality service», he concluded.
