Amid the nationwide strike that disrupted various sectors in Argentina, Flybondi announced it maintained its flight operations and provided ground handling services to other airlines at multiple airports across the country.
According to data shared by the airline, 34 out of 51 scheduled flights had already been completed as of reporting time, with over 5,200 passengers transported. If the full schedule is completed, the total number of passengers moved will exceed 8,400.
Nevertheless, as is often the case with Flybondi, there were significant delays on some departures from Ezeiza, including flight FO5242 to Bariloche (delayed by four hours) and flight FO5102 to Tucumán (nearly five hours).
The airline credits its ability to maintain service to its in-house handling operation, which provides aircraft and passenger ground services at 80% of the airports where it flies. This self-reliance enabled Flybondi to continue flying on a day when the strike heavily impacted the aviation industry.
Additionally, Flybondi provided ramp services to two other local airlines—including JetSMART for its international flights and American Jet—at the Ezeiza and Santiago del Estero airports. This was made possible by a permit obtained in 2024, which allows Flybondi to offer third-party ground handling services.
The collaboration sparked a light-hearted moment on Flybondi’s Instagram, where the airline posted a creative image merging the slogans of both low-cost carriers.
Throughout the day, Flybondi operated flights from Ezeiza International Airport, connecting Buenos Aires to Bariloche, Tucumán, Córdoba, Puerto Iguazú, Neuquén, Jujuy, Mendoza, Salta, Santiago del Estero, and Corrientes, as well as international routes to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
