Flybondi Introduces U.S. Dollar Debit Card Payment Option for International Flights to Brazil
Flybondi has launched a new payment option for its international services: passengers flying to the airline’s Brazilian destinations can now pay for their tickets using Visa, Mastercard, or Cabal debit cards, provided their accounts hold U.S. dollar funds.
This payment method is exclusively available at Flybondi’s sales and customer service offices at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP) and Ezeiza International Airport (EZE). It applies specifically to flights bound for Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Florianópolis—the three Brazilian cities currently served by the airline.
The key advantage of this new payment alternative is the ability to bypass Argentina’s 30% tax surcharge (General Resolution 5617) applied under Income and Personal Assets Tax for foreign currency purchases, as long as the fare is paid directly in U.S. dollars from a bank account via debit card.
Florencia Fora, Flybondi’s Customer Service Manager, said: “We’re always looking for better options and benefits for those who choose to fly with us. That’s why we’ve added a practical alternative like paying in dollars with a debit card for international ticket purchases.”
This payment method complements the existing options available at the airline’s airport sales points, which include credit cards, debit cards (for Argentine pesos), cash, and QR codes. At these locations, passengers can also purchase additional services such as checked baggage or seat selection, modify reservations, and get assistance with inquiries.
Customer service hours are Monday to Sunday, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM at Aeroparque, and from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Ezeiza.
