The Fábrica Argentina de Aviones “Brigadier San Martín” (FAdeA) has signed a new agreement with Flybondi to provide comprehensive maintenance services for the low-cost carrier’s Boeing 737 Next Generation fleet. The deal is part of FAdeA’s ongoing development of its Commercial Aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) Business Unit.
According to the state-owned company, this agreement expands its relationship with Flybondi, which began in 2018, and aims to consolidate a strategic alliance that enhances the operational capabilities of both companies. FAdeA emphasized that the agreement will help boost its competitiveness, regional reach, and ability to generate independent revenue, beyond state funding.
The announcement comes just days after FAdeA completed its first technical intervention on a Flybondi Boeing 737-800, specifically aircraft LV-KJF, which underwent a corrective inspection of the fuel system. The company reported that the work was completed within scheduled operational timelines and met high technical standards.

This initiative is part of FAdeA’s MRO Commercial Unit expansion strategy, which seeks to establish the company as a competitive player in the regional civil aviation maintenance market. The effort also supports FAdeA’s goal of diversifying its operations beyond defense-related programs, which have traditionally been its core business.

Flybondi currently operates a fleet of 15 Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which require regular scheduled maintenance and inspections. Under the new agreement, some of these services will be carried out at FAdeA’s facilities in Córdoba, enabling shorter turnaround times and minimizing operational disruptions—a critical area of concern for the ultra low-cost carrier, which has faced ongoing reliability challenges over the past year.
FAdeA stated that such agreements are part of a broader strategy of integration with the private sector, aimed at strengthening Argentina’s aerospace industrial base and positioning the country as a service provider in the regional aircraft maintenance market.
