    After almost 20 years, Ethiopian Airlines resumes operations to Copenhagen (CPH) with flights via Vienna (VIE). With this new service, the Ethiopian airline will operate to all three Scandinavian capitals.

    The airline’s last operation to the Danish capital was on October 28, 2023, with a service with a stopover in Frankfurt (FRA) operated by Boeing 757-200.

    Route details
    • The service will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
    • The flights will be operated by Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 aircraft with 270 and 311 seats respectively.
    • The company will offer 2,864 seats per week on this route.
    • The Danish capital is Ethiopian’s 17th destination in Europe.

    According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, Ethiopian Airlines will offer 48,719 weekly seats in Europe by June 2023, an increase of 28.8% when compared to the capacity offered before the pandemic. The airline will operate to 17 destinations in the Old Continent through its hub in Addis Ababa (ADD).

    • Geneva (GVA): four weekly flights on Boeing 787-9.
    • Istanbul (IST): daily flights on Boeing 737 MAX 8.
    • London – Heathrow (LHR): daily flights on Airbus A350-900.
    • Milan – Malpensa (MXP): three non-stop flights per week on Boeing 787-9 and four operations per week via Rome (FCO).
    • Vienna (VIE): five weekly flights on Boeing 787-8 and 787-9.
    • Oslo (OSL) operated via Stockholm (ARN).
    • Copenhagen (CPH) operated via Vienna (VIE).
    • Marseille (MRS) three weekly flights via Rome (FCO).
    • Manchester (MAN) operated via Geneva (GVA).
