Emirates to Boost Mauritius Service with a Third Daily Flight
Starting in December, Emirates will add a third daily frequency to Mauritius with a Boeing 777, increasing capacity on the popular route and strengthening its alliance with Air Mauritius.
Emirates has announced it will introduce a third daily service to Mauritius (MRU) starting December 1, 2025, a move designed to meet the growing travel demand to the Indian Ocean nation. The new frequency will be operated by a three-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which will increase seat capacity on the route by over 30%.
This additional service, operating under flight numbers EK709/710, will complement the two existing daily flights currently operated with the Airbus A380, the world's largest passenger aircraft. With this addition, Emirates not only bolsters its market presence but also solidifies its codeshare partnership with the national carrier, Air Mauritius.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, stated that the airline thanks the Mauritian authorities for making the additional daily service possible and highlighted the route's success since its launch in 2002. "We recently reaffirmed our codeshare partnership with Air Mauritius and our shared commitment to putting the destination on the global stage," Kazim remarked, adding that "the additional daily service will allow both airlines to meet demand from global travellers."

The new schedules are designed to optimize connectivity. Flight EK709 will depart from Dubai (DXB) at 06:55 and land in Mauritius at 13:40. The return flight, EK710, will depart from Mauritius at 18:30, arriving in Dubai at 01:10 the following day (all local times). These timings facilitate seamless connections for passengers traveling from Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, and key Far East markets such as Japan, China, and Malaysia.
Since launching operations in Mauritius in 2002, Emirates has transported over 8.8 million passengers and more than 126,000 tonnes of cargo. The airline's presence has generated substantial economic contributions for the island, including an estimated impact of USD 530 million on the Mauritian economy through tourism-related spending.
The Mauritius route is a clear example of Emirates' mixed-fleet strategy, where it utilizes both the A380 for high-density routes and the B777 to supplement capacity and frequency. With the addition of the third flight, Emirates will operate a total of 21 weekly flights between Dubai and Mauritius, cementing its position as the leading international carrier in the destination. Tickets are now available for purchase through Emirates' official channels and travel agents.
