In line with the continued easing of global travel restrictions, Emirates continues to add the world’s largest passenger aircraft, the A380, to its network. According to the airline’s plans, by the end of November, the Airbus giant should fly to 27 cities, up 65% from the current 16.

Emirates already flies to more than 120 cities, representing 90% of its pre-pandemic network, and is on track to achieve its goal of restoring 70% of its capacity by the end of the year. In December 2020, Emirates introduced its first A380 configured in four classes, including a premium economy section. By November, it will have six aircraft equipped with this new cabin.

The airline’s A380s currently fly to the following destinations:

    1. Amman
    2. Cairo
    3. Jeddah
    4. Guangzhou
    5. London (Heathrow)
    6. Manchester
    7. Frankfurt
    8. Vienna
    9. Paris (Charles de Gaulle)
    10. Munich
    11. Moscow (Domodedovo)
    12. New York (JFK)
    13. Los Angeles
    14. Washington (Dulles)
    15. Toronto
    16. Mauritius.

As of November of this year, the following destinations should be added to those mentioned above:

    1. Amsterdam
    2. Barcelona
    3. Düsseldorf
    4. Hamburg
    5. Johannesburg
    6. Madrid
    7. Milan (Malpensa)
    8. Riyadh
    9. Sao Paulo
    10. Zurich
    11. Istanbul

With these eleven new routes – and due to the addition of frequencies to destinations already operated – Emirates will offer more than 165,000 additional seats on its A380 fleet. It is worth noting that the route to Istanbul is a novelty in the airline’s planning, as it was previously operated by other models. According to a press release, October 1 will be the first operation of the A380 to this destination.

Emirates is the world’s largest A380 operator. The company expects to take delivery of the last three A380s in November, which will also be the last delivery of the program. Once these deliveries are completed, the airline’s total A380 fleet will reach 118 aircraft.
