Delta Air Lines commemorated the production of its 100th A321 at the Airbus facility in Mobile, Alabama. This milestone underscores their shared commitment to domestic job creation and the US economy.

In 2015, the European manufacturer launched its first US production site with approximately 400 employees. The first aircraft was delivered to Delta from this facility in 2016. Today, thanks to this fruitful partnership, the Mobile plant employs over 1,600 individuals.

The A321 is a cornerstone of Delta’s strategy, serving medium-haul and high-density routes. The aircraft combines fuel efficiency with a next-generation cabin designed to cater to customer needs.

U.S. Senator Katie Britt commended this partnership, stating, «It supports good-paying jobs, aids families in achieving their American Dream, strengthens local communities, and boosts the regional economy.»

While the production of Delta’s 100th A321 in Mobile is a significant achievement, the airline took delivery of its 100th aircraft from this facility last autumn.

    Presently, the Atlanta-based airline has a significant order backlog with Airbus, including 59 A222-300s, 126 A321neo, 17 A330-900neo, and 16 A350-900s.

Kristen Bojko, VP of Fleet for Delta Air Lines, said, «This milestone reinforces our commitment to more fuel-efficient aircraft and investment in quality U.S. jobs.»

    C. Jeffrey Knittel, CEO of Airbus Americas, added, «Delta values our commitment to modern, efficient, and passenger-friendly aircraft. It’s particularly special to deliver these aircraft from our US facility.»
