The general strike called by the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) for Thursday, April 10, will significantly impact air transport in Argentina. Several unions in the aviation sector confirmed their participation in the nationwide strike, leading airlines to adjust their flight operations and offer rebooking options to affected passengers.

JetSMART cancels all domestic flights
JetSMART announced it will cancel all domestic flights scheduled for April 10, affecting 66 flights and more than 10,000 passengers. The airline stated that the cancellations are due to the lack of ground handling services during the strike.
International operations will continue but with schedule and airport adjustments, impacting an additional 1,500 passengers. JetSMART is offering free rebooking with no fare difference for travel until April 30, subject to availability.
LATAM Airlines offers flexible rebooking
LATAM reported that the strike could lead to delays and cancellations across its Argentina network. Passengers with flights to or from Argentina on April 10 can reschedule their travel up to 15 days after the original date with no change fee. Early departures are also allowed.
Flybondi shifts operations to Ezeiza
Flybondi will operate from Ezeiza International Airport on April 10, where it has self-handling capabilities, avoiding the impact of third-party service disruptions. The airline plans to operate 68 domestic and international flights, transporting more than 9,000 passengers.
However, the airline has cancelled four flights and made several adjustments, including schedule changes and airport switches, especially at airports where it relies on Intercargo ground services.
Sky Airline issues rebooking policy
Sky Airline’s Argentina flights will be affected due to its dependency on Intercargo. The carrier is offering passengers the option to reschedule their flights without penalties or fare differences, valid for up to 30 days from the original date.
Aerolíneas Argentinas: double impact
The Pilots’ Association (APLA) announced it will join the general strike and participate in a public demonstration on April 9 in Buenos Aires. In addition, APLA called a separate 12-hour strike at Aerolíneas Argentinas for April 16, from 12:00 to 00:00.
APLA is demanding compliance with collective agreements, addressing salary delays, and protesting the reinstatement of income taxes for workers. They also raised concerns about crew shortages across different fleets. Aerolíneas Argentinas has not yet issued an official response.
