    Canada Jetlines will land in Mexico with a new route between Toronto – Pearson (YYZ) and Cancun (CUN) starting March 3, 2023. The low-cost airline will be the seventh Canadian operator in this segment.

    According to data compiled by Aviacionline through the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC), 546,583 passengers were mobilized in 2022 between Cancun and Toronto in 3,039 operations, being the main route by passenger traffic between Canada and Mexico.

    Flight Itinerary

    • Toronto/Pearson – Cancun Flight AU 502 YYZ 06:45 – CUN 10:50 Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
    • Cancun – Toronto/Pearson Flight AU 503 CUN 14:40 – YYZ 18:45 Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
    Route information
    • In the period from June to September, the service is reduced to two weekly flights (Tuesdays and Saturdays).

    The route will be operated by Airbus A320ceo aircraft with 174 seats in single configuration and promotional fares are available from USD 222 one way.

    The low-cost carrier also plans to expand its international network starting February 15 with new services to the United States to Orlando/Melbourne (MLB) and Las Vegas (LAS).

    Currently, the Toronto/Pearson (YYZ) – Cancun (CUN) route offers 30,758 seats per week through six operators on 128 operations according to Cirium, with Air Canada Group being the leading carrier in terms of seats per seat kilometers (ASK). Canada Jetlines will soon compete with Air Canada, Flair Airlines, Air Transat, Swoop, Sunwing and WestJet.

    Mexico’s sun and beach destinations are very popular with Canadian tourists, generating a wide range of flights between the two countries. According to AFAC data in 2022, 3,167,588 passengers with an occupancy factor of 79.6% in 2022 were mobilized between Canada and the Aztec country, making it the second most important international market in Mexico in terms of passenger traffic.
