Breeze Airways Confirms Transition to Exclusive Airbus A220 Fleet by End of 2024, Orders 10 New Aircraft

Breeze Airways confirmed an order for another 10 Airbus A220-300, thus bringing the total number of aircraft of that family ordered to 90, which will make it the third largest customer worldwide after Delta Air Lines and airBaltic.
Founded in 2020 by David Neeleman, one of the pioneers of commercial aviation worldwide, who also founded JetBlue and Azul, Breeze Airways has been developing in markets with little or no presence of the major American airlines using an initial fleet of Embraer E190 and E195 aircraft (10 and 6 respectively at the time of this publication), to which they began to add Airbus A220-300 from December 2021, of which it already operates 20.

The company confirmed that it expects by the end of 2024 all its Embraers to be withdrawn from regular service and to operate exclusively with the A220-300.

“The aircraft offers efficient operations and an outstanding passenger experience, all while operating with the world’s lowest small single-aisle carbon footprint and a lower noise footprint in the communities where it flies. This additional order from Breeze is a strong endorsement for the value and opportunities offered by this latest generation aircraft,” he added.
Since its first flight in May 2021, Breeze Airways has grown to develop a network of 50 destinations and over 150 routes in the United States.
