The Sindicato Nacional dos Aeronautas (SNA), Brazil’s national aeronautics union, has formally requested that Azul Linhas Aéreas resume discussions regarding the scheduling of night shift crew assignments.
The request stems from a previous commitment made by the airline. During a January 2025 meeting, Azul agreed to conduct an internal review—led by its Operational Safety (Safety) department—to evaluate the implications of implementing Clause 3.3.14 of the Collective Labor Agreement (CCT). The airline had pledged to present its official position at the next meeting, but according to the SNA, this follow-up never occurred.
In light of the situation, the union is stressing the importance of strict adherence to the scheduling guidelines outlined in the CCT. Specifically, the SNA is advocating for the enforcement of Clause 3.3.14, which limits crew members to no more than two consecutive overnight shifts and a maximum of four overnight shifts within a 168-hour period, using Brasília time as the reference.
The union is demanding that Azul issue a formal stance on the matter, which remains unresolved. Additionally, the SNA has warned that if the airline fails to respond or provide a satisfactory resolution, it will proceed with legal action to enforce the contractual rights of aviation professionals under the current labor agreement.
