Delta Air Lines is broadening its international reach at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), introducing new service to Mexico City International Airport (MEX). The route will supplement the airline’s existing operations between Cancun and BOS, offering two daily flights between Massachusetts and Mexico during the winter season.

In the past, Aeromexico, Delta’s cross-border joint venture partner, provided daily service between Boston (BOS) and Mexico City (MEX) on a Boeing 737-800. However, the service was suspended on January 7, 2019.

Now, the Atlanta-based carrier will become the sole operator in this market, taking over from JetBlue, which last operated daily flights on this route using an A320 on January 8, 2020.

Commencing in late December, Delta will operate flights to Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX) from seven U.S. cities: Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), Detroit (DTW), New York (JFK), Los Angeles (LAX), Minneapolis (MSP), and Salt Lake City (SLC). According to Cirium, the airline will provide 24,980 weekly seats on these routes.

In 2022, Delta transported 3,757,695 passengers and 2,411.4 tons of cargo between the United States and Mexico in 25,112 operations, according to data from the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFC).
