BoA Announces New Entry Requirements for Foreigners Traveling to Argentina
Boliviana de Aviación (BoA) announced new mandatory immigration requirements for foreign travelers entering Argentina, effective immediately. The state-owned Bolivian airline issued the notice in coordination with immigration authorities, with a focus on informing passengers flying to the neighboring country.
As of today, all foreign travelers must have valid health insurance, regardless of the reason for travel—whether for tourism, work, study, or business. The measure is part of a broader effort to tighten entry controls into Argentina, mirroring requirements already imposed by Bolivia.
In addition to health insurance, the following documents are also mandatory:
• Return or onward ticket, either by air or land.
• Accommodation reservation, or alternatively, the address of a relative where the traveler will be staying.
BoA warns that failure to meet any of these requirements could result in denial of entry by Argentine immigration authorities. The airline therefore urges passengers to prepare all necessary documentation in advance to avoid travel disruptions.
The statement emphasizes the importance of anticipating these requirements to ensure a safe and smooth journey.
For additional information, passengers can contact BoA's offices in La Paz, Cochabamba, and Santa Cruz, or call the national Contact Center at 7722229.
BoA operates 13 weekly flights between Bolivia and Argentina:
• 1 weekly flight from Cochabamba to Buenos Aires
• 12 weekly flights from Santa Cruz de la Sierra to Buenos Aires
