Avianca Lands in Córdoba with Inaugural Flight from Bogotá
The new route marks the airline’s return to Argentina’s interior and strengthens its growing presence in the country.
At 5:40 a.m. this Tuesday, nearly half an hour ahead of schedule, Avianca’s inaugural flight from Bogotá landed at Ambrosio Taravella International Airport in Córdoba, marking the airline’s highly anticipated entry into the Argentine city.
The first operation was carried out with an Airbus A320neo, registration N963AV, which departed back to Bogotá at 7:53 a.m. carrying 160 passengers, compared to 92 on the inbound leg—a typical trend for inaugural services.

This route represents Avianca’s return to Argentina’s interior, having previously operated Lima–Mendoza flights before the pandemic. Originally planned as a seasonal route, the service is now set to continue year-round.
Avianca Córdoba–Bogotá Flight Schedule

- Flight AV 8342 COR 07:35 – 11:20 BOG / Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays
Avianca has seen steady growth in Argentina, which has become one of the airline’s fastest-expanding markets. This expansion has been supported by operations through its Ecuadorian and Costa Rican subsidiaries.
Growth has been enabled by modifications to the bilateral air agreement between Argentina and Ecuador, enacted under President Javier Milei. Due to frequency limitations between Argentina and Colombia, Avianca is leveraging its Ecuadorian operations, which benefit from unrestricted flight permissions. A Memorandum of Understanding between Argentina and Colombia to liberalize frequencies has also been signed and is awaiting ratification.
Bogotá is now Córdoba’s 10th international destination, completing a strategic hub triangle with Lima (LATAM Airlines) and Panama City (Copa Airlines), providing critical links to Central America, the Caribbean, and the U.S.
Other international routes from Córdoba include:
- Asunción (4x weekly, Paranair)

- São Paulo–Guarulhos (3x GOL)
- Madrid (4x Air Europa)
