    Avianca has announced it will increase service between Bogotá (BOG) and Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP) in Buenos Aires, raising frequencies from three to seven flights per week starting June 2, 2025. This expansion complements existing operations at Ezeiza International Airport, bringing the total to four daily flights to the Colombian capital.

    At Aeroparque, Avianca will continue to operate with Airbus A320neo aircraft, configured with 180 seats, offering a weekly capacity of 2,520 seats on this route:

    • Flight AV 155 BOG 21:15 – 05:40 (+1) AEP / Daily
    • Flight AV 154 AEP 07:00 – 11:30 BOG / Daily

    According to Argentina’s National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC), Avianca carried 7,905 passengers on this route between January and February 2025, with an 80% load factor. In the same period, Aerolíneas Argentinas transported 10,804 passengers with an 83% load factor, using Boeing 737-700 aircraft.

    Currently, Avianca operates 17 weekly flights between Bogotá and Buenos Aires via Ezeiza (EZE) using Airbus A320neo and Airbus A330-300 (operated by Wamos Air):

    • AV 83 BOG 06:59 – 15:20 EZE / Tue, Thu, Sat
    • AV 217 BOG 16:00 – 00:10 (+1) EZE / Daily (A330)
    • AV 8340 BOG 21:25 – 05:45 (+1) EZE / Daily
    • AV 8341 EZE 06:50 – 11:30 BOG / Daily
    • AV 84 EZE 16:45 – 21:24 BOG / Tue, Thu, Sat
    • AV 218 EZE 01:40 – 05:55 BOG / Daily (A330)

    With the upcoming expansion, total capacity between Bogotá and Buenos Aires will rise to 10,534 weekly seats. In 2024, this route moved 430,941 passengers, with an average load factor of 88%, according to ANAC.

    These new frequencies will reinforce Avianca’s operations in Buenos Aires, where the airline will operate 39 weekly flights across the following destinations:

    • Medellín/Rionegro (MDE) – 7 weekly flights
    • Quito (UIO) – 2 weekly flights
    • Quito–San José (SJO) – 2 weekly flights
    • Guayaquil (GYE) – 2 weekly flights
    • Guayaquil–San José – 2 weekly flights

    In addition, Avianca will launch service to Córdoba starting June 19, and is planning further expansion to Mendoza (MDZ) and Rosario (ROS), following approval from Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority.
