The new generation A320 family aircraft will be delivered directly to Austrian Airlines from a Lufthansa Group order and will begin to replace the older A320ceo models.

Depending on the route, an Airbus A320neo emits 3,700 tons of CO2 less per year, and compared to the previous model, this is because the new aircraft consume 20% less fuel due to modern engine technology. With these new aircraft, Austrian Airlines contributes to an important environmental responsibility.

«Modern, fuel-efficient aircraft and sustainable fuels are the most important levers for achieving our ambitious climate targets» said Francesco Sciortino, COO of Austrian Airlines.
«We want to halve our CO2 emissions by 2030 and operate CO2 neutral by 2050, both on the ground and onboard» added Sciortino.

The A320neo will be operated on European flights and initially on routes to London Heathrow (LHR), Amsterdam (AMS), and Frankfurt (FRA). The new aircraft will have a 180-seat configuration. Se same as the other Lufthansa Group airlines operating this model. It will also feature the new AirSpace Cabin. This one provides passengers with greater comfort during their journey.
