ATSA Airlines Resumes Flights to Atalaya After Five Years

On March 6, ATSA Airlines resumed flights to Atalaya (AYX) after a five-year absence, following the route's suspension in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, the airline will increase frequencies to Mazamari (MZA) starting March 21.
Lima–Atalaya Route Returns
The reinstated Lima–Atalaya route will significantly cut travel time, reducing the journey from 12 hours by land to just 1 hour and 15 minutes by air.
ATSA Airlines will operate three weekly flights using Beechcraft 1900D aircraft, configured for 19 passengers, offering a total of 114 seats per week.
Flight Schedule (Lima–Atalaya–Lima)
- Flight 4A 4011: LIM 14:00 – 15:15 AYX (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays)
- Flight 4A 4012: AYX 16:00 – 17:10 LIM (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays)
These operations complement SAETA Perú, which currently connects Pucallpa using Jetstream 32 aircraft.
Increased Frequencies to Mazamari
Starting March 21, ATSA Airlines will increase flights between Lima and Mazamari (MZA) from two to three weekly.
The airline will operate the route on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays using Bombardier Q400 aircraft, configured for 76 passengers, offering a total of 456 seats per week.
Other ATSA Routes
In addition to Atalaya and Mazamari, ATSA Airlines operates flights from Lima to:
- Tingo María (TGI): Three weekly flights
- Huánuco (HUU): Five weekly flights
- Chachapoyas (CHH): Six weekly flights
All these routes are served by two Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
