In a surprise move, the Argentine government has granted Domus Airways S.A. authorization to operate both domestic and international flights within the country. The decision was formalized through Provision 15/2025, published today in the Official Gazette by the Ministry of Economy’s Transportation Secretariat.

The airline is now cleared to offer both passenger and cargo services under the government’s broader strategy to liberalize the aviation market. According to the official statement, Domus Airways had been seeking this permit since 2018, but had not succeeded until now.

This approval comes amid regulatory changes aimed at reducing bureaucracy and deregulating the commercial aviation sector. To begin operations, Domus Airways must still obtain an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from Argentina’s National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC). Notably, this marks the first case of an airline being authorized to operate regular flights without undergoing the previous public hearing process.

Sources close to Aviacionline indicate that the individuals behind Domus Airways were also involved in founding Alas del Sur—a company that secured route permissions during the December 2016 public hearing but never launched independently. Alas del Sur was later sold to Indigo Partners and became the foundation for JetSMART’s Argentine subsidiary.

    Approved routes:

    Domestic:
