Arajet is making a bold move in its strategy to dominate connectivity in the Americas by expanding beyond Buenos Aires and launching a new route to Córdoba, Argentina’s second-largest city.

The Dominican airline had previously requested authorization from the country’s Civil Aviation Board to operate flights to several destinations, including Córdoba, Rosario, and Mendoza, as part of a broader plan covering Colombia, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Brazil.

The expansion begins with Córdoba, where the airline aims to increase frequency to daily service before launching operations in Rosario and Mendoza.

During a press conference in Buenos Aires, Arajet CEO Víctor Pacheco announced that the new route between Punta Cana and Córdoba will operate three times per week—on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Ticket sales will begin next week, and the inaugural flight is scheduled for November 8.

By the end of 2025, Arajet will operate 13 weekly flights on the Punta Cana–Ezeiza route, two on Santo Domingo–Ezeiza, and three on the newly announced Punta Cana–Córdoba route.

“The steady growth of our operations in Argentina is the result of a joint strategy with the Ministry of Tourism,” said Pacheco. “This new route from Córdoba will allow more Argentines to experience the beauty of Punta Cana, while also enabling more Dominicans to explore Argentina.”

The press event was part of a road show promoting tourism in the Dominican Republic and featured David Collado, the country’s Minister of Tourism, along with Jorge Marte Baez, Ambassador to Argentina, and Manuel Luna, Arajet’s Director of Communications.

In Córdoba, Arajet will directly compete with Aerolíneas Argentinas, which also operates three weekly flights to Punta Cana, and with Copa Airlines, which flies 16 times weekly to Panama, targeting connecting traffic—especially to the U.S., where Arajet has grown rapidly and now serves Miami, New York, Boston, Chicago, Orlando, and San Juan, PR, with Los Angeles to be announced soon.
