This first service was operated with a Boeing 737 MAX 8, registration HI1081, which, as highlighted by Arajet through an Instagram story, had a Brazilian captain and a Dominican first officer.

The Dominican low-cost carrier had started selling its flights to Sao Paulo in June, which will operate three times a week with this schedule:

    • Flight DM 269 Santo Domingo-São Paulo: SDQ 19:20 – 03:35 (+1) GRU / Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
    • Flight DM 270 São Paulo-Santo Domingo: GRU 05:40 – 11:50 / Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

These flights will be served by Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with a capacity for 185 passengers, providing 1,110 seats per week. Arajet will be the only operator connecting the Dominican capital with São Paulo.

Arajet recently celebrated its first anniversary, during which it transported more than 360,000 passengers through its network of 22 destinations in America.
Currently, besides Sao Paulo, the network of the Dominican low-cost carrier from Santo Domingo includes Aruba (AUA); Barranquilla (BAQ), Bogotá (BOG) and Cartagena (CTG), Colombia; San José (SJO), Costa Rica; Curaçao (CUR); Quito (UIO) and Guayaquil (GYE), Ecuador; San Salvador (SAL), El Salvador; Guatemala City (GUA); Kingston (KIN), Jamaica; Cancún (CUN) and Mexico City (NLU), Mexico; Lima (LIM), Peru; and St. Maarten (SXM).

To these will be added Toronto (YYZ), starting October 24; Santiago, Chile (SCL), starting October 29; Montreal (YUL), starting November 7; and Buenos Aires (EZE) starting November 14; in addition to a new route between Bogotá (BOG) and Santiago de los Caballeros (STI).

In 2024, Arajet hopes to move 1.5 million passengers, positioning Las Americas airport in Santo Domingo as a new north-south continental hub. Its arrival in the United States will be key to this, for which they are only waiting for authorization from the government of that country.
