Andes Líneas Aéreas receives Boeing 737-700 LV-ARR, expanding charter fleet
The Boeing 737-700 acquired by Andes Líneas Aéreas, registered as LV-ARR, landed in Buenos Aires on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 3. The aircraft made a scheduled technical stop in Guayaquil, Ecuador (GYE), before completing its final leg to Argentina.
This aircraft marks a new addition to Andes Líneas Aéreas’ fleet, as the carrier continues its fleet modernization and expansion strategy. The LV-ARR is a Boeing 737-7K2 with manufacturer serial number (MSN) 38125 and was most recently registered as 2-CCXB. Its operational history includes service with Dutch carrier KLM and, more recently, Ecuador’s Equair, which ceased operations in September 2023. Built in 2011, the aircraft features a single-class configuration with 142 seats. Before delivery preparations for Andes, it had been stored in the United States.
The addition of this Boeing 737-700 is part of Andes Líneas Aéreas’ plan to strengthen its operational capacity, focusing primarily on the charter market. The airline resumed operations in June 2023 after securing recertification and currently operates with two Boeing 737-800s. With the arrival of LV-ARR and another -700 model unit, Andes will double its available fleet.
These aircraft will enable the Argentine carrier to meet growing demand in segments such as student travel, sports team transport, and other charter services—both domestic and regional. Founded in 2005, Andes Líneas Aéreas is now in a phase of consolidation, aiming to expand its footprint in Argentina’s commercial aviation market. The arrival of this aircraft supports the company’s growth plans and its commitment to the Boeing 737 Next Generation platform.
