    Details of the airport works

Refurbishing and bringing the movement areas up to standard:

    • Repaving of runway and paved margins, reconstructing it completely.
    • Expansion of turn basins at the runway headlands to allow unrestricted operation of all planned aircraft.
    • Repaving of the Alpha taxiway and its margins.
    • Rehabilitation and expansion of the commercial apron, including the reconstruction of a sector. This will allow 3 Key C aircraft to operate simultaneously without operational restrictions and without affecting the useful life of the pavement.

At the airport, all the traffic corresponds to Boeing 737, Airbus A320, Embraer 190 aircraft, so the geometry designed will be adjusted to the operation of these aircraft, including the paved margin sectors and fundamentally the commercial apron.

    • Clearing is foreseen for later incorporation of the ALS approach beaconing system.

Aerolíneas Argentinas, the only company with operations, will transfer its flights to Santiago del Estero and Tucumán. Prior to the closure, it had two weekly services to and from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery in Buenos Aires in Embraer 190 aircraft.
