Latin America and Caribbean Destinations Get a Boost with American Airlines Major Winter Schedule

«While we are not yet halfway through the summer travel season, we are already focusing on how we can better serve our customers this winter. Thanks to additional flight offerings, we will provide additional seat capacity that will allow us to welcome more customers to Phoenix than last winter«, said Sophia Philis-Ortiz, PHX Hub’s vice president of operations.

In January of this year, the carrier launched a new connection to Monterrey bringing the number of destinations it serves to Mexico from Phoenix to eleven. In addition, American will reactivate nonstop service for the first time in more than three years to Wichita.

The airline will operate more than 12% additional daily flights compared to last year’s winter and supply nearly 4% more seats, providing even more opportunities for customers for business and leisure travel.

We are also excited to see American launch nonstop service to Jacksonville, Florida, a brand new market for us«, said City of Phoenix Aviation Department Director of Aviation Services Chad Makovsky.

    Winter Scheduling Additions

During the winter season, American is boosting its schedule and adding flights between Phoenix and 28 cities: Albuquerque, Boise, Boston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Des Moines, Fresno, Spokane, Houston, Wichita, Jacksonville, New York JFK, Las Vegas, Kansas City, Orlando, Medford, Miami, Milwaukee, Redmond, San Diego, San Antonio, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, San Jose (California), Sacramento, St. Louis, Santa Rosa, Tulsa and Tucson.

American Airlines is the leading carrier at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in terms of seats per seat kilometers (ASK) and has nearly 45% of the market share according to Cirium.
