American Airlines grows in Jamaica, inaugurates flights to Ocho Rios

American Airlines has begun operations to a new destination: Ocho Rios, Jamaica. This launch, which took place on Saturday, February 24th, marks the start of flights to the airline’s third destination in the country.

With flights departing from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Ian Fleming International Airport (OCJ), American Airlines now offers an exclusive connection to this picturesque destination. The route, which will operate twice a week using Embraer 175 aircraft with a capacity for 76 passengers, reflects the airline’s commitment to Jamaica, a country with which it has maintained a relationship for more than 45 years.

A Lasting Commitment

“American has a commitment of more than 45 years with Jamaica and today we are proud to strengthen our presence with a third destination in the country, Ocho Rios,” said José María Giraldo, General Director for Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.

Giraldo also highlighted the importance of connecting Ocho Rios with Miami, a key international gateway to the United States, which will facilitate access to this beautiful destination for travelers from around the world.

Schedules and Connections

Flights between Miami and Ocho Rios will be conducted on Wednesdays and Saturdays, departing from Miami at 10:10 a.m. and arriving in Ocho Rios at 12:15 p.m. Return flights will depart from Ocho Rios at 12:55 p.m., arriving in Miami at 2:45 p.m.

With this new service, American Airlines expands its offer in Jamaica, reaching more than 100 weekly flights during the winter season and reinforcing its destination network in the country, which already includes Kingston and Montego Bay.
