    After a five-year absence, Allegiant Air returns to Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) operating from four new cities.

    Flights include:

    1. Punta Gorda, Florida via Punta Gorda Airport (PGD): with two weekly flights on Airbus A320 aircraft. For the northern summer season, a third weekly flight will be added.
    2. Sarasota, Florida via Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ): with two weekly flights on Airbus A320 aircraft. For the northern summer season, a third weekly flight will be added.
    3. Savannah, Georgia via Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV): with two weekly flights on Airbus A319 aircraft. For the northern summer season, two additional weekly flights are added.
    4. St. Petersburg, Florida through St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE): with two weekly flights on Airbus A320 aircraft.

    According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, the company will have 112,128 seats on offer between March and November 2021, positioning it as the third-largest carrier at Akron-Canton Airport.

    «Travel demand is high in Northeast Ohio and Akron-Canton Airport is an ideal fit for our network and business model,» said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s senior vice president of revenue and planning.

    The airline operated at Akron-Canton from 2015 to 2017. At the time, Allegiant officials said most of its passengers were from the Cleveland area and preferred the convenience of Hopkins, forcing it to move its operations to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

    «Starting today, Allegiant Air offers nonstop flights to Northeast Ohio’s favorite vacation destinations,» said Ren Camacho, president, and CEO of Akron-Canton Airport. «Our partnership is off to an excellent start and we are excited about Allegiant’s future at CAK. Needless to say, we are thrilled to welcome them back to CAK,» he concluded.
