Alaska Airlines adds another Central American country to its flight network

In the framework of an important announcement of the incorporation of new aircraft, among which are 17 Embraer E175s and 13 Boeing 737 MAX 9s, Alaska Airlines announced on Tuesday the 12th the launch of its flights to Belize from the West Coast of the United States.
In this way, that nation will become the third Latin American country served by Alaska Airlines, after Mexico and Costa Rica, in which it operates about 109 weekly flights from Los Angeles, Seattle, San José (California), San Diego, San Francisco, and Portland.
«Our customers are eager for more eco-friendly vacation destinations, especially as they begin to be vaccinated, and we are ready to offer them great options,» said Brett Catlin, Vice President of Networks and Alliances at Alaska Airlines. «Belize offers an unrivaled mix of stunning beaches, iconic keys and rich history,» he added.
The routes and frequencies which it will operate in Belize have not yet been detailed, but this will be known in early June when its commercialization is launched.
Belize City is currently linked to the United States by American Airlines (one weekly flight from Charlotte-Douglas, 8 weekly flights from Dallas / Ft. Worth, 1 weekly flight from Los Angeles, and one daily flight from Miami); Delta (one daily flight from Atlanta); and United Airlines (2 weekly flights from Denver, 2 weekly flights from Newark, 14 weekly flights from Houston, a weekly flight from Los Angeles and a weekly flight from Chicago).
